Whether handcrafting James Bond’s wedding bands (Daniel Craig + Rachel Weisz), or scavenging for sapphires on the ground whilst paragliding the skies of Madagascar, Catherine’s journey, in the world of fine jewelry— can only be hers. She welcomes such modern-day collaborations, as she dreams up collections in her New York studio. She has roamed the world, eyes wide open,  encountering much BEAUTY, TENDERNESS along the way- indigenously handmade objects, that tell the story of a tribe, of a clan, ARTISTS, DREAMERS, VAGABONDS..

Ongoing, her love affair with BIRDS and FLIGHT… with Life- its infinite possibility of VOYAGES.

JHUNG jewelry, is an expression of the WANDERLUST and ART, that coexist in her heart. These are collections borne out of the exquisitely expressive objects, encountered on her journeys all over the world. Architect Oscar Niemeyer put it best— “The most important thing is not architecture, but LIFE, FRIENDS, and this unjust world that we must CHANGE”

She was most recently, Director of Fine Jewelry at Alexis Bittar. She launched his Fine line in 2013, after he spent +20 years in Costume jewelry. Before joining her previous position as Senior Designer at Ippolita, Catherine created Whitestreet, an award-winning fine jewelry line, whose first collection premiered at Bergdorf Goodman in 2003, and was featured on the cover of Town&Country. She won the GenArt Design Visionary Award 2003, and was nominated for the FGI Rising Star Award 2004.

Catherine self-taught jewelry, from an extension and upgrade of tools and techniques used in architectural model-making. Before launching Whitestreet, she worked as a set designer on numerous Broadway and Opera productions. She was much more intrigued by the miniature reality of the models, than building to scale.
